3 Times Grammy Nominee Giordano Ashruf & Rashid Badloe or better known as the “Afro Bros”, are a DJ-duo based in The Netherlands. They are currently signed to Spinnin’ Records. They are related and grew up in a very musical family. Both of them started working as promoters for electronic dance parties in their hometown, Arnhem. But after a little while they started thinking that they should be the ones standing in the DJ booth.
From that moment on they were no longer the two nephews working as club promoters but, two DJ’s with a clear vision and a dream. In a short period of time they started developing a fanbase with the unique, uplifting sounds and beats that they played.
What started local continued to expand throughout the whole country. It was not long before they were playing in clubs and at festivals throughout The Netherlands.
After 5 years of performing all over the world, they decided to do something different. In 2016 they released a Dutch track called “18+”. This single became a huge hit. What started as a joke became a major music break-through, receiving the gold and platinum status. Not long after this release they signed a record deal with Spinnin Records and released a Spanish version of their hit.
At this point the Afro Bros only got bigger and better, collaborated with producer Boaz van de beatz and continued the hit streak. Producing two major number 1 hits “Energie” and “Come Again” with rapper Ronnie Flex. Both singles going platinum 7x and were crowned with a Buma Award, the highest award in the Dutch music industry. After this huge accomplishment, they joined forces with Major Lazer and helped produce the hit single “Sua Cara” featuring Anitta & Pabllo Vittar. Later on, this single was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award.
After all this success the unique “Afro Bros sound” did not go unnoticed as they were approached by Jeon to produce a new track for Nicky Jam & J Balvin. A few weeks later, Nicky Jam and J Balvin started working with one of the beats produced by the Afro Bros and the hit single “X (EQUIS)” was a fact.
X became their second worldwide hit production, which opened the door for collaborations with Pitbull, David Guetta, Karol G, Charly Black, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike.
Hitting 1,3 Billion views on YouTube, 539 million streams on Spotify and being nominated for 2 Latin Grammys, The Afro Bros started to conquer the world with their music.
